Janet has qualified as a mentor with SFEDI, and works with the University of Northampton to mentor start-up businesses. A mentor provides support to a mentee, acts as a confidential sounding board for a variety of issues, ensures the mentee accepts overall responsibility for agreed action and helps the mentee to adopt and adapt external ideas. It involves a combination of coaching, facilitating, counselling and networking skills.
Janet has had a considerable
amount of success so far with her mentees and helping them to progress, and
is happy to help more people start up their businesses. Either contact Janet
directly or the University of Northampton.
Janet publicly speaks on a number of health-related issues, in particular, ‘Stress in the Workplace’ to raise awareness of stress, its effects on the individual at work and at home and also how it can effect the employer and their business.
Through the Health and Safety Executive and by law, Employers have a responsibility to acknowledge and control their employees stress and this presentation, particularly highlights recognition of stress in others and gives suggestion as to how to manage it.

Herts Healing now offers Independent Support Broking in Northamptonshire.
An Independent Support Broker is a person who can assist disabled clients with a personal budget to write a support plan and organise the required support. They can also (as a private, paid arrangement) assist people who are ‘self-funders’. Brokers can find and arrange community resources and negotiate services.
Brokers are completely independent from the Northamptonshire County Council and service providers, they will usually be self-employed or part of a voluntary sector organisation and are accountable to the people they assist.
Brokers help people though all the stages of planning and organising the use of their Personal Budget.
• So they can help clients with the ‘person-centred planning’ processes of thinking about the changes they want to make to their life.
• Brokers can also help people evaluate different ways of achieving those changes – whether using community resources, informal help, or specialist services – and help find and work with those resources.
• And brokers can help to write the Support Plan.
In all these tasks, the brokers work strictly to the requirements of the client. Brokers don’t do assessments or make decisions, and the Support Plan still belongs to the customer.
If you know of anyone who needs the services of a Support Broker,
or would like any further information, please contact us.
